A Promised Land – Una Terra Promessa

On December 5th at 10:30 a.m. at Nuovo Teatro Orione in Rome “A Promised Land – Una Terra
Promessa” will be staged for Roma’s schools as a Premiere.
The show tells of a journey to happiness. It is the tale-through the music of Händel-of 4 friends fleeing
war to land in the New Promised Land: Europe.
The “4 friends” are the winning singers of the Sacred Music International Competition, and their
emotions will be narrated by the famous actor Vincenzo Bocciarelli, the Nova Amadeus Chamber
Orchestra conducted by M.° Stefano Sovrani and the Italian Chamber Choir. The show – designed to
captivate and engage children with storytelling, stage movements, and evocative lighting – will last
about 80 minutes and is part of the European project “Let’s Sing Oratorio” winner of the European
Union’s Creative Europe Program. The Project has been created to spread the genre of the Oratory
music among children and teenagers in a fun way. A project which is also an important tool for
fighting educational poverty and overcoming social, cultural and territorial differences.
The international partnership of Let’s Sing Oratorio Music’ is formed by: Silesian Theatre Opava (CR),
Filarmonica Mihai Jora, Bacau (RO), PanHellenic Federation of School Choirs and Choirs Director (GR)
and Accademia Musicale Europea (IT).
“The journey to happiness has always been man’s purpose and now more than ever a metaphor for
the times we are living in”, declares Vincenzo Bocciarelli.
Artistic Director Daniela de Marco adds, “This show combines the splendor of music with emotions,
beauty and positivity to convey new transversal knowledge to children combined with a healthy dose
of enthusiasm and optimism”.
